Privacy Policy

What data is collected, why it is needed, and how to access or delete it.

This policy explains what personal data is collected on eladlotar.com and in the ELAD trainee app, why it is needed, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how you can access, correct or delete it.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

  • The website and the app are operated by Elad Atias — ELAD Counter-Terror Training School, of 85 Jabotinsky St., Herzliya, Israel.
  • ELAD is a counter-terror training school that operates a shooting range, runs firearms and Krav Maga courses, and delivers security training in Israel and abroad.
  • For any privacy question or request, contact us by phone or WhatsApp at +972-53-6490000, or by email at elad@eladlotar.com. We respond within 14 days.

2. What this policy covers

  • The eladlotar.com website in all its languages, including the contact form, the firearms licence eligibility questionnaire, the pistol and optic finders, and the equipment shop.
  • The ELAD trainee app on iPhone and Android.
  • It does not cover third-party sites and services the website links to, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp and the app stores. Each of those has its own privacy policy.

3. What the website collects

  • Contact form: full name, phone number, email address (optional), area of interest and a free-text message. If you tick the marketing consent box we also record the exact wording of the consent you were shown.
  • Firearms licence eligibility questionnaire: civil status, age, length of residence, military or national service details, service in the police, prison service or fire service, security or instruction roles, town of residence and work, and the name, phone and email you enter at the end.
  • Pistol and optic finders: your answers and the resulting recommendation. The questionnaire does not ask for a name, phone or email, and answers reach us without identifying details. If you choose to continue on WhatsApp, your contact details reach us through WhatsApp.
  • Statistical usage data: pages viewed, time on page, browser and device type, and general geographic region. Collected through Google Analytics and only after you consent in the cookie banner.
  • The website never asks for and never collects a national ID number, payment card details or precise location data.

4. What the trainee app collects

  • Contact details: full name, phone number and email address. The phone number is also the login identifier.
  • National ID number. Required to identify you to the licensing authority and to record your participation in live-fire training, as the law requires.
  • Firearms licence details: licence number, type and expiry date. Participation in training requires a valid licence.
  • Firearm details: type, manufacturer, model, serial number and ownership — private or range-owned.
  • Training records: registrations, cancellations, attendance, no-shows and ammunition used.
  • Membership and payment data: the plan purchased, the monthly entry quota and payment status.
  • The app contains no tracking, advertising or behavioural analytics tools of any kind, and does not collect location, contacts or microphone.

5. Photos and documents in the app

  • The personal folder in the app lets you photograph or select documents and images, such as a refresher certificate or a receipt.
  • These files are stored on your device only and are never sent to the school’s servers.
  • Camera and gallery permissions are used for this purpose alone.
  • Deleting the app also deletes the files saved in the personal folder.

6. Payments

  • Payments are processed by the payment provider Grow, on its own secure payment page.
  • The website and the app never see, receive or store payment card details at any stage.
  • The school receives confirmation from the payment provider of the transaction, its amount and the payer’s details, in order to activate the service and issue an invoice.

7. Why we use the data

  • To respond to an enquiry you initiated. Basis: your own enquiry and our legitimate interest in answering it.
  • To manage your registration for training, verify eligibility to attend, and manage membership and billing. Basis: performance of the contract between you and the school.
  • To meet the legal requirements that apply to operating a shooting range and live-fire training, including recording a valid licence and keeping books. Basis: legal obligation.
  • To send operational messages about your training, such as a reminder or a cancellation notice. Basis: performance of the contract.
  • To send marketing messages — only to those who gave explicit consent. Basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • To understand how visitors use the website and improve it. Basis: your consent in the cookie banner.
  • We do not sell your data and do not pass it to third parties for advertising purposes.
  • We do not make automated decisions with legal effect about you. The licence questionnaire result is a preliminary estimate and is not a decision of any authority.

8. Who the data is shared with

  • The infrastructure provider that hosts the school’s database and services.
  • The payment provider Grow, to process payment and issue the invoice.
  • The messaging providers used to send operational messages and mailings, including the business WhatsApp provider.
  • Google, as operator of Google Analytics — statistical data only and only after your consent.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), as operator of the Meta Pixel — information about visits and actions on the site, to measure our ads and show ads to people who have already visited, and only after your consent.
  • In addition, a list of existing customers' phone numbers and email addresses is sent to Meta in encrypted (one-way hashed) form, so that we do not show them ads for what they have already bought and to find people with similar interests. Meta does not see the details themselves and deletes them after matching.
  • The school’s accountant, for lawful bookkeeping.
  • Competent authorities, where the law requires it.
  • Each such provider acts on our instructions and is bound to protect the information. We do not transfer data beyond what the purpose it was given for requires.

9. Cookies and measurement

  • The website uses cookies necessary for its operation, Google Analytics measurement cookies, and Meta Pixel measurement and advertising cookies.
  • Measurement cookies are not loaded and not written until you approve them in the cookie banner. Until then Google Analytics runs in a restricted consent mode that does not identify you and stores no cookies on your device. The Meta Pixel is not loaded at all until you approve.
  • You can change your decision at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
  • The full detail, including the list of cookies and local browser storage, is in our Cookie Policy.

10. How long data is kept

  • Enquiries from the contact form and the licence questionnaire are kept for up to 24 months from the last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
  • App account details are kept for as long as the account is active.
  • Payment records, invoices and accounting documents are kept for seven years as the law requires, including after account deletion.
  • Records of participation in live-fire training are kept for the period required by the law governing shooting ranges.
  • Google Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months.
  • Meta Pixel data is retained by Meta under its data policy. The _fbp cookie in your browser expires after 90 days.
  • The app’s one-time login code is valid briefly and expires after use.

11. Your rights

  • Access: to know what data we hold about you and to receive a copy.
  • Rectification: to have inaccurate or outdated data corrected.
  • Erasure: to have your data deleted, except what the law requires us to keep. In the app you can delete your account yourself: Settings → Sign out and delete → Delete my account.
  • Opt out of marketing: every marketing message includes an unsubscribe route, and you may also request removal through any of our contact channels. Opting out does not affect operational messages about training you registered for.
  • Withdraw consent: you may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
  • Visitors in the European Union or the United Kingdom are additionally entitled to data portability, restriction of processing and objection to processing, and may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in their country.
  • To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. We may ask for an identifying detail to confirm the request is yours.

12. Information security

  • Communication between the website, the app and the server is encrypted.
  • App login uses a one-time code sent to your phone, with no permanent password.
  • Access to data in the management system is limited to school staff, by personal permission and on a need-to-know basis.
  • We maintain ongoing security controls, but no system is entirely immune. If a security incident occurs that requires notification, we will act as the law requires and inform those affected.

13. Transfers outside Israel

  • Some of our service providers, including the infrastructure provider and Google, store or process data on servers outside Israel.
  • Such transfers are made to bodies subject to a recognised data protection regime or under the contractual terms customary for this purpose.

14. Children

  • The website and the app are not intended for minors and we do not knowingly collect data about minors.
  • Participation in live-fire training requires a valid firearms licence and therefore applies to adults.
  • If information about a minor has reached us without a parent’s consent, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

  • We will update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of this page.
  • A material change will be brought to your attention on the website, in the app or by message.
