Cookie Policy

What is stored in your browser, why, and how to change your decision.

This policy explains which cookies and which local browser storage eladlotar.com uses, why, and how you can control it. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What a cookie is

  • A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads on later visits.
  • Alongside cookies, websites also use local browser storage — localStorage and sessionStorage. Data kept there stays on your device and is not automatically sent to us.

2. Necessary cookies and storage

  • The site writes no marketing cookies, no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
  • The language you chose is stored locally under the key lang, so that we do not return you to the wrong language on every visit.
  • Your cookie decision is stored locally under the key cookieConsent, so that the banner is not shown to you again on every page.
  • The accessibility settings you chose — text size, contrast and link highlighting — are stored under the key a11yPrefs, so the site looks the way you set it on your next visit as well.
  • These are required for the site to work properly and to keep the preferences you asked for, and therefore do not require consent.

3. Measurement and advertising cookies — Google Analytics and Meta Pixel

  • The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many visitors arrive, which pages are viewed and how long is spent on them.
  • The cookies _ga and _ga_ identify a returning browser for statistical counting. They last up to two years.
  • These cookies are not written until you approve them in the banner. Until then the tool runs in restricted consent mode: it writes no cookies and does not identify you, and Google receives only an aggregate signal from it.
  • The data is statistical and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. It is processed on Google servers under Google’s privacy policy and retained for up to 14 months.
  • You may also install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on, which blocks the tool on all websites.
  • The site also uses the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel to learn which ads led to enquiries, and to show ads to people who have already visited the site.
  • The pixel writes the _fbp cookie, which identifies a returning browser, for 90 days. It is not loaded at all and writes no cookies until you approve in the banner.
  • The data is processed on Meta servers under Meta’s data policy. You can also manage your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

4. Other local browser storage

  • pistolFinder and opticFinder — the answers you gave in the pistol and optic questionnaires and the result produced, so you can return to your result without filling everything in again.
  • appPopSeen — when you were shown the invitation to download the trainee app, so it is not shown to you repeatedly.
  • leadMsg and licDockClosed — kept for the browsing session only and deleted when you close the tab. They remember a message you started writing and a panel you closed.
  • All of these are stored on your device only. You can delete them at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

5. Changing your decision

  • At the bottom of every page there is a "Cookie settings" link that reopens the banner. You can accept or decline at any time.
  • Declining stops measurement immediately, deletes the Google Analytics and Meta cookies from your browser and revokes consent in the Meta Pixel.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking everything may affect how preferences are saved on other sites.

6. Changes to this policy

  • If we add a new measurement tool or service, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again where it is required.
  • The date of the last update appears at the bottom of this page.
